Country Breakfast at the Junction

Hi there! Cold enough for you?
I can see from the news that everyone is suffering through some of the coldest days we have had in years. Record breaking as they say in some parts of the country, and coupled with the five snow storms we have had here, I don't want to venture of out of the house.
This is a good time to have a big country breakfast with the family and I knew just the tablescape for the occasion!

Country Breakfast at the Junction -

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a thing for roosters. Today I am setting the breakfast table with one of my tried and true friends.

The red and white colors of this beautiful Rooster
worked well with the new Rooster
dishes I found at TJ Maxx just before Christmas

On the same day, I found this tablecloth.
It's one of the new vinyls from Waverly
perfect for informal family gatherings
and the pattern is just delicious!

Here you can see why I was so excited.
The colors are perfect paired with
my little Longaberger Pottery bowls
and everyday red handle flatware

The best part of it all...
Yes! The Rooster dishes!

I added the white cereal bowl from the
Gourmet Basics Collection
by Mikasa.
Notice how the textured weave of the Mikasa
matches the transferware basket pattern of the dinner plate?
I love when it comes together like this don't you?

Lastly - the pattern on the dinner plate.
Love it!

I also think nothing is better than a big cup
of coffee to start my day,
so the Mikasa mug was used in place of glasses.

Although my family needs no map to their seat,
I couldn't resist these little place card
holders from Pottery Barn -
on clearance they are even cuter!

Time for your close up!

Fun little pieces like these make all the difference

Thanks for stopping by today. As always I enjoyed your visit.
I hope you start your day off with a good breakfast!

This week I will be joining others who would like to share with you their beautiful tablescape designs.

  1. Such a fun and inviting table! I go in to my TJ Maxx FREQUENTLY and I am quite sure ours did not get those yummy rooster plates! :( They would have gone home with me. Seems they pair so well with other dishes as you have demonstrated! You have some gorgeous dishes and accessories. That rooster is too beautiful...but I'm sure he knows it! Vinyl tablecloth by Waverly?? Wherever did you find it? It's calling my name.

Lovely table! Yes it's cold in the Midwest too with lots of snow. brrrrrr....

  4. Are you sure we aren't related? :) I have those dishes and the tablecloth, and the towels I use for napkins!( and in green, too!) I am not a rooster fan, so I try to use the soup bowl rather than that plate! Love the checks though!
When I was in WSonoma Outlet last week they had lovely rooster plates, bowls, platters, etc for 90 % off!! I was tempted, but in the end I put them back. I know you would have bought them!!
Your table looks like a wonderful way to start the morning lovely!
    Stay warm!

  11. Well, hello!! How have I missed you??? I have spent the morning visiting with you and your adorable blog. I'm loving it. You have an excellent eye, all your tables have been just lovely. I have a lot of the same dishes as you, Christmas china, and some others, so I feel as if your taste is similar!! Thanks for visiting with me, I appreciate your kind comments. Your blog has been so successful in such a short time, do you have a secret (other than setting such gorgeous tables)?

  14. Good Afternoon! Quickly checking in to let you know I just got some news from the company where I was going to order the ramekins. They are on back order till some time in late April which might mean you'd get them in May. I thought the lady the other day told me they were in stock (or I wouldn't have mentioned it to you as an alternative), but apparently they are not.

I then checked with another company who had them for the same price, I placed an order, and they said they don't have them in stock either. Strike two! So I'm trying to decide whether to cancel the order or not.

So here's my question to you...

Would you rather wait and get these some time in late spring, or would you prefer to get something else with the money? Write me on my blog and let me know. It might even be easiest if instead of me ordering for you, if I just sent you the $ I would have spent on the ramekins and let you find something in a shop or on eBay or etsy... it doesn't have to be Evesham. It could be another pattern you love, and you seem like me, you love it all! LOL!

Please let me know at your earliest possible convenience which you prefer. I will need to cancel the order for the ramekins if you perfer not to wait. If you don't mind, please leave your response on my BLOG. Gmail is apparently having some issues, and I want to be sure I get the message. So don't email. THANKS! :-)
