The White Luncheon

Before all of the color infused decor of the Christmas Season took hold, I did an all white tablescape.
It was a visually relaxing moment, almost like a snow day when you are forced to stay put, light a fire and just be still.

I have visions of a hot hearty soup with
warm from the oven crusty bread

I decided not to use a tablecloth or placemats
adding to the simplicity of the setting

The flatware is my everyday.
The chargers are my old favorites.

With all white, you are drawn to the texture
rather than the color and pattern.

The little pine cone salt and pepper shakers
add just a little more texture
to stimulate the eye

The little birds under glass are ceramic
however the nest is a real
found in my garden at the end of the season

I think they like to be photographed
without the glass dome -
you can see them better here

Another angle allowing a better view of the details

  1. What a gorgeous tablescape! I love the dishes, so much texture and I love the birds in the dome. Actually, I like everything on the table. Great creations! Thanks for becoming a follower...Christine

  2. Oh, this table is rich in texture....I love it all! Your sweet birdies and the nest are a perfect centerpiece.

    CHRISTmas Blessings!

  3. Beautiful table! Gorgeous dishes and decor!

  4. I'm in love with every single element on this table!! The little birdies look so cute on that beautiful pedestal cloche!

You have lots of gorgeous pieces to play with & I really enjoyed seeing them. Oh & those still my ♥!!!! *sigh*

  5. I was really drawn to your table, and I think it is because your dishes show up so wonderfully without a tablecloth. You got it just right! Those little birds are the cutest! They seem to be trying to find a way out of the glass!

I also went to your Christmas table. LOVE the green glass and the napkins. Those are just the best.

  6. This is a lovely, lovely table- full of tone on tone texture and simplicity. I think that is what makes such a statement. The pinecone s/p shakers are so cute, as are your little birds w/the real nest. Isn't it fun to find such a treasure? Thanks for visiting yesterday, I hope you'll stop back again. Enjoy the holiday season~ Sue

  7. Love the way this table looks- crisp and clean, yet inviting all at the same time. I agree with Pat- the wood really adds a nice touch and warms it up. And of course, I love the birds in the nest- what a whimsical touch to a beautiful luncheon at the junction!

  8. So lovely! All the textures are so appealing in this all-white table -- and stunning photography! Your stack of plates looks great!

  9. You are so right about the textures, they just make studying this post like eye candy. I love the textures in the plates but the cake plate, turreen and salt and pepper shakers are like the frosting on the setting.

I have come to your blog via Kathleen's party and will be back again to visit soon. You may not know me but I am a bird lover and the birds in the cloche are the cherry on top :)

  10. Oh I love all of the textural patterns on your place setting, and your napkins that appear to have a similar cutwork pattern. Beautiful tablescape. laurie

  11. Just beautiful! Love your whites and all the texture. Exquisite!

  12. Love all your white textures! Your birds & your found sweet nest are the scene stealers for me:-)

  13. What a lovely table you've set! If I were invited to this luncheon, I would feel oh-so-special! Happy Tablescape Thursday!

  14. This is just beautiful! Look at all those textures you have with your whites, such lovely pieces!

Thank you for linking up this wonderful scape to my White Christmas Party!

  15. A wonderful mixture of whites and textures to achieve a beautiful tablescape. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

  16. Your layered dishes are so lovely, then add the pine cones, greens and birds...beautiful table...I ♥ it!
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  17. This is such a gorgeous set. I purchased 6 of these bowls at a local Home Goods store and love them - they go with a serving tray with stand I have. Unfortunately I broke one over the holidays. The store no longer has them & I have spent fruitless time on line trying to find a replacement. I would be most grateful if you could advise me where I might find more? Janet at

  18. The dishes are beautiful! I especially like the salt and pepper shakers. Can you tell me who the maker is of the dishes?
