Spring Breakfast at the Junction

I am still trying to coax Spring into being. Mother Nature unfortunately has other plans! We have had February temperatures here and the buds are slow to respond even to the longer sunny days.
Time to bring the sunshine indoors with a bright sun inspired tablescape.
What great way to start the day!

Welcome to ....

The Spring Breakfast at the Junction

A sunny breakfast is the best way to begin the day.
Yellow here sets the mood.

These bright little salad plates got me in the mood
for something sunny

Surrounded by the halo of the bright metal yellow
chargers, the soft green of the dinner plate
and the patterned trim of the second dinner
plate, they look like the sun itself

I used the white patterned tea cups instead of yellow
to pick up the white of the other accent colors here

The teapot is a recent purchase from
The Christmas Tree Shop
that matches the salt and pepper shakers.
The set was under $5.00  Love that store!
The lemon pitcher is an old friend.

Even for family, fresh pressed napkins
are a must!

Hope you have a sunny day!

Spring Fever in the Junction

On Sunday March 20th at 7:20 pm Spring arrives! This was probably one the most anticipated Springs in many years as it has been a hard winter in most of the country. The snow, cold and now flodding in a large portion of my state has taken it's toll on even the most patient of personalities.
There is no better time than now to bring in the spirit of renewal and set a table with the colors of the season. When I think of spring, I think of the beautiful yellows of daffodils and the pinks of primrose. Lucky for me, my local grocery had the same thing in mind and had boxes upon boxes of these flowers to help me get my spring on!

Spring Fever in the Junction

Nothing says Spring like Daffodils!

Or a tablescape
dressed in the colors of Spring

I just loved the happy florals
 on this dish pattern

This sweet little sherbet glass in pink
was just the thing I needed.
An Annapolis GW find.

My pink and green paisley napkins
bring on the spirit of the season

This pattern just makes me smile!

I could not resist
another close up of the setting

Let's not forget the accents

Happy St. Patricks Day

Every holiday brings about a celebratory feeling. We plan for them, shop for them and center our family meals around them. St. Patricks Day for most is one of those holidays that they seem to "adopt". Everyone is Irish on St. Patricks Day!
I don't have a drop of Irish blood, however, my sainted husband. 'himself',  is half Irish - the better half my
mother -in-law would say, so I do consider it a family centered holiday.
Although I would love a vast collection of Bellek, I am sorry to say - I don't own a piece! I normally rely on the greens and creams I have from other collections.
This year I stumbled upon a cute set of salad plates that sport pretty green Shamrocks!
So - my tablescape, will be 'Wearin' the Green"!

Welcome to ...
The St. Patricks Day Luncheon

I could not seem to find any napkins that had a Celtic feel -
so I bought some fabric from Joanns and made my own

I took my accent cues from the gold coins
and added the gold chargers for a bit more formality.
I love how you can see the little Shamrock under
the Anchor cut glass soup bowl

These little salad plates set
the St. Pattys Day tone -
a wonderful addition!

Fortunately, I have a number of green stems
 for wine and water.
These are the perfect shade of green.

The buffet is set for
after dinner Irish Coffee ... Yum!

Ready for dessert! Hmmm.
What should I serve?

Thank you all for dropping by.
I will leave you with a snippet of the Irish Prayer....

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
The rain fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
